News From the Flock -- Wild Ewes Woolery

Hi, stitchers!

Wow, temperatures are predicted to be in the 60’s this weekend! It definitely is beginning to feel like Fall!

The deSTITCHnation destination for September is in and it is Cape Town. Sojourn to South Africa with your needles and yarn!

Come in and get a skein; it comes with a pattern, postcard and sticker.

As a crocheter, I am excited to be knitting my first sweater! It has been an interesting journey so far – all those live stitches!!! That is a bit scary for those of us accustomed to having only one. I chose a top down raglan in stockinette with rolled edges, so mostly it is what I have heard called TV knitting. I stopped working on body length to do the sleeves so I can use every yard of remaining yarn for length. We just restocked our FlexiFlips so I grabbed a set and am doing my first knitting with more than 2 needles.  It is a bit fiddly for me yet, but I am doing it! Anyone else working on a sweater?

Now for the BIG NEWS! We are ready to announce the shawls
our Fall Crochet and Knit-A Long! Our crochet pattern will
be Ocean State of Mind by Mijo Crochet and our knit
pattern is an original design by a talented local
designer, Jennifer Granger Tipton, which
she named Acorn Hunting. We are so pleased to be able
to showcase Jennifer’s creative efforts!
The second part of the big news is that our yarn blanks finally have
shipped and we will begin hand dying the yarn for the shawls next week.
This is no small deal given the supply chain issues caused by Covid.
We will kick this off as soon as the yarn is ready, so stay tuned!

Remember our sale on summer yarns is going on until the end of the month

Thanks for being part of our flock, we'll keep you in stitches!
